Conflict is difficult; if there were an easy way around it, it wouldn’t be conflict. It is important to manage conflict clearly and thoughtfully, with the appearance at least of a principled response. Remember too that conflict is often not what it appears: people’s feelings and position (face) can matter as much or more than the issues being debated.
